English - 4 credits
  • English 1

Social Studies - 4 credits
  • World Geography
  • World History
  • US History
  • Government (1 semester)
  • Economics (1 semester)
Math - 4 credits 
  • Algebra 1
  • Geometry
  • Algebra 2
  • Additional Math Course
Science - 4 credits
  • Biology
  • Chemistry or Physics
  • Additional Science Course
  • Additional Science Course
Language Other Than English (LOTE) - 2 credits in same language
Fine Arts - 1 credit
PE - 1 credit
Health - 0.5 credit (1 semester)
Electives - 5.5 credits

*1 credit = 2 semesters
*0.5 credit = 1 semester

A passing score on the STAAR EOC EXAMS in the following subject areas are also required for graduation:
English I
English II
Algebra I
Biology
US History

Students also have to fulfill one endorsement area out of the 5 listed below to meet graduation requirements. **A minimum of one is required students can graduation with more than one.

Arts & Humanities
Business and Industry
STEM

Financial Aid Requirement
House Bill 3 Financial Aid Graduation Requirement Beginning with students enrolled in 12th grade during the 2021-2022 school year, each students must do one of the following in order to graduate: 1.Complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or 2.Complete and submit a Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) or 3.Submit a signed opt-out form. Seniors and their parents/guardians should reach out to their Austin ISD college and career advisor or counselor for assistance in completing their financial aid application.


College Readiness Scores 

All graduates must take the TSI test IF they do have have "college ready" scores reflected on other benchmark tests - more information may be found HERE.  The TSI test assists students in being placed in college level work at their college of choice
. 
THERE IS NOT A MINIMUM TSI SCORE REQUIREMENT to graduate high school!
