Letters of Recommendation - what you need to know....
- Are you applying to a Common App school that requires a COUNSELOR recommendation letter? (note that Apply Texas applications do not require the Counselor Recommendation).
- Filll out THIS form. Make sure you make a copy of the embedded REQUEST FOR COUNSELOR REC DOCUMENT and upload to the completed document into the google form.
- Parents and/or Guardians may fill out THIS optional Brag Sheet to supplement your Counselor recommendation letter
- Do you need a TEACHER recommendation? Ask the teachers IN PERSON and give them at least 3 weeks to complete. They will submit directly to the school via Naviance. Some teachers may ask for a resume or a 'brag sheet' to complete their letter of recommendation. Do not forget to THANK your teachers and counselors for submitting letters of recommendation!
NOT SURE WHAT RECOMMENDATIONS YOU NEED?
Check the Common Application by clicking on the application requirements on the COMMON APP DASHBOARD! If you see a green check in the "CR" box, then the school requires a counselor recommendation.
'TE" stands for TEACHER EVALUATIONS (i.e. Teacher recommendations) and this box tells you how many Teacher Recs are required by the school.
